About American National Life Insurance Company of Texas

Founded in 1954, American National Life Insurance Company of Texas (Antex) offers a wide variety of products, including life insurance, retirement annuities, and health insurance. It is a subsidiary of American National Insurance Company and based in Galveston. The American National Medicare supplement plans are outlined below.

American National Medicare Supplement Plans

Antex offers Medigap plans A, G, and N. All these Antex plans cover pre-existing conditions right away, pay out the benefits no matter what other insurance you might have, and are renewable for life. The three plans vary in what else they cover:

Plan A

  • Covers Medicare Part A coinsurance
  • Hospital benefits
  • Medicare Part B coinsurance
  • First 3 pints of blood
  • Preventative care coinsurance

Plan G

  • Covers all of Plan A
  • Adds skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
  • Deductibles of Medicare Part A
  • Medicare Part B excess charges
  • Foreign travel emergency.

Plan N

  • Covers all that plan G does, but requires an office visit copayment of $20, and a $50 copayment for emergency room visits.

Other Plans

Antex offers additional supplemental insurance in the form of an Accidental Death and Dismemberment plan, Supplemental Cancer plan, and Hospital Indemnity. Not all are available in every state that Antex serves.
