Medicare Supplement Plans

Medigap Plans (or Medicare Supplement Plans) are Medicare Supplement insurance that helps to cover some of the costs associated with Medicare that are not covered with standard Medicare coverage.  These costs are often referred to as “gaps” and consist of costs like coinsurance, deductibles, prescription drugs, and copayments.  Some Medicare Supplement plans will also offer coverage for additional services, like medical coverage outside the U.S., that original Medicare does not cover.

All Medicare Supplement plans are standardized and identified in most states by the letters A through N.  Each standardized Medicare Supplement plan offers the same basic coverage, no matter which insurance company you purchase it through.  Medicare Supplement plans are not the same as Medicare Advantage plans.

Medigap plans are the most common form of Medicare Supplement insurance.  One of the most common and preferred Medigap plans is Plan F.  To learn more about Medigap Plan F and all the available Medigap plans, read the stories below.
