Medicare can seem like a very complex program that’s hard to understand, but don’t be intimidated. Understanding Medicare and the many ways to supplement it with Medigap Insurance isn’t hard when you have the right advisor.
Medicare is not going to cover all of your health care needs, but Medicare Supplemental Insurance or Medigap Plans can. These plans come with a variety of different benefits to let you pick and choose the healthcare coverage you expect to need. Fewer benefits may mean lower premiums, but you still need to do a lot of comparison-shopping (or have us shop for you) to get the coverage you need without paying top dollar.
For example, if you have a pre-existing health condition, your best bet is to get Medigap Insurance during open enrollment. That’s when your application cannot be denied and you cannot be charged higher than normal rates due to your health. You typically hit open enrollment when you first become eligible for Medicare, but there are other opportunities.
To save yourself time and trouble, you can call us and have us search for the lowest rates where you live. We can advise you about new open enrollment periods that come up as the law changes. That’s what we’re here for – to take the worry out of Medicare and nobody makes Medigap Insurance as easy as we do.
